Family Fun on the Georgetown Loop Railroad

The Georgetown Loop Railroad was one of Colorados first visitor attractions.
Completed in 1884, this spectacular stretch of three-foot narrow gauge railroad was considered an engineering marvel for its time. In 1973, the Colorado Historical Society began restoring the railroad as of its 978-acre Georgetown Loop Historic Mining Railroad Park.

The Georgetown Loop Railroad is a 3 ft narrow gauge United States heritage railroad located in the Rocky Mountains in Clear Creek County, adjacent to Interstate 70 in Colorado. This tourist train runs between the communities of Georgetown and Silver Plume.
